Much of what we do in middle school ministry is immersed in our faith formation program on Wednesday evenings at Encounter Nights.
Encounter nights help middle school youth learn about the Catholic faith and apply it to their lives, as well as form authentic friendships within a larger youth group. At this point in a young person's life, many things are changing and new challenges are presented; having a community that is like-minded and holds similar foundational beliefs can be so helpful in navigating some of these challenges. We use the Life Teen: Edge curriculum and format of Gather-Proclaim-Break-Send. This format allows us to have fun, connect with each other, and dive deeper into our faith. On these nights, we have times where all youth are together doing activities, as well as time where youth are in small groups - divided by grade and gender - lead by catechist mentors. Ideally, a group of middle schoolers will journey all three years (6th grade through 8th grade) with the same group members and catechist mentors, and they will accompany each other as they encounter Jesus and grow in friendship and holiness.
Each night includes hospitality (food!), games, conversations, and service projects.

Community Nights
Throughout the year, we have opportunities to gather together as a community to have fun, serve those in need, and worship the Lord. These nights are for building community and a great opportunity to bring a friend along who may not belong to our parish.
Past events include:
Glow in the Dark Capture the Flag
Slip 'n Slide Kickball
Meals from the Heartland
Community nights have their own sign ups available, scroll down for more information.
We try to offer these nights at no cost, but occasionally we may need to charge a fee for expenses outside of our budget.
