The Pastoral Care is most fundamentally a relationship—A Ministry of Compassionate Presence! This was the way Jesus received all people-a caring stance toward all people, especially those who were hurting or in need.
Pastoral Care Ministry enables healing and growth to take place within individuals and their relationships. It nurtures growth toward wholeness, and it provides guidance in decision making and challenges obstacles to positive development.
The Pastoral Care Ministry administers Sacramental assistance for those in homes and care facilities, Funeral Mass, Grief Support, and Senior Event.
One of the goals of the ministry is to ensure that parishioners in homes and care facilities know that they remain an important part of the parish.
The priests who bless Communion Ministers for homebound remand us to tell those we visit that they are thought of and prayed for by the community.
In a typical visit, we share the readings of the day. We provide a reflection on the scripture readings. We ask them whether they have anything for which they wish to pray for, to have them become active participants in the communion service. We distribute the Holy Eucharist and conclude the service with prayer.
While the primary purpose of our visits is sacramental, a secondary and very important goal is to provide those we visit with a sense of community.

Guided by the Holy Spirit, Grief Support provides opportunity for real connection from parishioners who have suffered loss in one form or another.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted
Grief is a life changing experience. There is no one right way to grieve. As Catholics, we celebrate and give thanks for the promise of eternal life, and we acknowledge grief is a Christian response in the face of loss.
At St. Boniface, we want to be a spiritual home and provide a place of support, prayer, resources and encouragement in the midst of loss and sadness. We offer a variety of ministries to journey alongside our bereaved parishioners at the time of death and in the months and years to follow.
The Funeral Luncheon Team prepares and serves meals after funerals, allowing the family to focus on their families and friends while committee members prepare and serve the meal.
Luncheons are served in the Parish Hall.
Parishioners are invited to contribute side dishes, cold salads, and desserts for the luncheon.
The ministry team (consists of men and women) remains one of the most caring and helpful services we provide families during the time of grief.
If you would like to be part of this ministry team or volunteer by working in the kitchen with food preparation and serving, or would like your name added to our list to make a dish for the luncheon, contact Sara Krohnke, [email protected]
